What research require IBC Approval?
Any WU investigator planning a research project that involves the following projects must submit an application for Walailak University Institutional Biosafety Committee (WU-IBC) review and approval before initiating the work.
BIOSAFETY LEVELS
Approval of safety certification is based on the biological safety levels, which can be divided into 4 levels from low to high as follows:
Low hazard
Harmless research and experiments.
Moderate hazard
Research that could cause a low hazard to laboratory staff, community, and environment.
High hazard
Research that could harm laboratory staff and a low-level danger to community, environment, or an unknown extent harmful.
Serious hazard
Research that could cause a serious hazard to laboratory staff, community, and enviraonment.
