Strategies Planning Seminar 2022

On November 1, 2021, RIHS organized the seminar in strategy development focusing on
performance improvement in the next fiscal year (2022) at The Wayo Café, Sichon, Nakhon Si
Thammarat. The main objectives for the improvement consist of increasing external funding
opportunities as well as the internal funds and enhance the standard operating procedure
(SOPs) for laboratory pursuant to the International Standards.

Asst.Prof. Dr. Udomsak Saengow, the director of RIHS, opened the seminar with the
overview of the past year’s achievements and obstacles in order to discuss further with the
administrative staff together with the laboratory unit for proper solutions.

The Administrative and Research Support unit has introduced the following incentive
policies for WU internal researchers to create more 90 percentile research articles published in
top-tier international journals. Firstly, the public relation news would include celebration
memorandum for the researchers who achieve publication or obtain funds. Secondly, the
internal funding budget and awarding policies will be adjusted. Finally, cooperating with
external agencies to open more funding opportunities, RIHS was planning to encourage WU
internal schools and colleges to nominate more potential research program directors in order to
meet the demand from other funding sources.

Meanwhile the administrative staff has proposed encouragement strategies to promote
the overall research quality and attract more client to the institute, the Laboratory Unit
advanced their SOPs for laboratory conforming to ISO and Thai Industrial Standard (มอก.) to
support the client efficiently. By organizing training sessions on the advanced lab equipment,
such as Confocal microscopy, LC-MS/MS and etc., such equipment may be a potential tool to
reinforce their research.

These plans are a part of organizational development strategies in fiscal year
2022 in accordance with Research and Innovation Assessment Criteria, which aims to challenge
as well as to improve the employee’s performance through side projects, including SOPs, ISO,
and funding Manual.
